Adding the Member Card (Typical)

1. Sign/ Sign in to your club or community using the relevant email

The Sign In button is available at the top of the community profile section.

Not a Member? Become a Member

To qualify for a Member Card, communities often ask new members to provide information and payment upfront. Example below.

Membership Expired? Renew your membership.

Community Managers will typically send members to a direct link to renew their Membership - see visual below.

2. Link your Debit/ Credit Card

Linking a debit or credit card ensures your Member Card always has enough balance to cover tap‑and‑pay purchases.

Frontcover will automatically select the last used debit/credit card to simplify the card linking process, however, you can switch this up with the Add/ Update button.

Note: You must authorise for auto-top-ups, and you can always 'Skip for now', and link your card(s) later.

3. Add Member Card to Apple/ Google Wallet

To add the digital card to your mobile device, simply click the "Add to Wallet" button or press the link in your SMS notification.

4. Verify yourself via OTP

Choose to verify SMS or Email, and complete the verification by entering the One-Time-Passcode.

5. Complete the Add to Apple or Google Wallet

Click the relevant button to add the digital Member Card to your device.

  • Apple Wallet Process

See below the visuals for the 6-step process of adding the Member Card to Apple Wallet.

Note: If you encounter issues, we have a short guide below to add the card manually.

Add Member Card Manually (Apple Wallet)

1. Load Card Details

First, you need the Card Details (including Card Number and Expiry). You get these through the "Load card details" button on the 'Add to Wallet' screen, immediately after OTP. See step 5 above.

Note: You will have received the web link to 'Add to Wallet' via email or SMS. Alternatively, you can view the Add to Wallet button in your Wallet.

2. Complete the process in Apple Wallet

Troubleshooting + Resolutions

Apple Wallet Error 202

Error 202 is a catch-all that surfaces when the card gets rejected. This error may also appear when trying to add the card manually. See instructions below on adding a card manually.

There are several usual culprits, see below:

  • No device Passcode/ biometrics

Generally, we highly recommend that you use Face ID and/ or Passcode on your Apple device for 'Contactless + Payments'.

You may be

  • iOS/ Android is too old

A software upgrade and restart may be required before adding a new Wallet Card.

  • Region mismatch

Make sure Settings › Wallet & Apple Pay › Country matches the card’s region.

Google Wallet - Verify your card info

If you get the message "Verify your card info to make sure that you can use this card everywhere online", see below, you should still be able tp use the card for in-person payments e.g. at the Celtic Club.

However, most online check-outs and in-app purchases will fail. And any cashback or rewards linked to this card won’t trigger.

To verify your card info, you may need to enter the CVV. To get the CVV and Card Details - visit Step 2 for section 'Add Member Card Manually (Apple Wallet)' in this same article.
